I have mentioned frequently that my wife, Ava, is a runner.

We walk a lot every day, and she has a goal, a daily goal of reaching 10,000 steps on the days when she runs,

that usually is a very easy goal to reach. There are some days when she's not running,

where our walks later in the day might be a little bit longer. She'll check her garment.

Okay, we need to go around the block one more time.

All right, that's fine. I think she loves walking, but her real passion is running.

I know that we both enjoy, really enjoy our walks together.

One of the things that I have become sensitive to is how people will interchange the words running and jogging.

Oftentimes, we'll be out in the neighborhood and we'll see some neighbors, and they might mention Deva, yeah, I saw you jogging this morning.

It was very gracious. She doesn't say anything. I mean, other than

thank you or something about her run.

But in the running community,

jogging is one of those words that is simply not used.

And I

was part of the running community for five years, and I felt the same way.

I never said that I'm jogging.

I'm not going out and jogging a half marathon.

I'm running a half marathon.

So for runners, at least all the runners that I know, including when I was a runner, we landed on the word

running. This is what I'm doing. I'm running. I'm not jogging. I'm not entirely sure what the

history of that word is. I remember when Jimmy Carter was president and Bill Clinton was president,
