0:14.3	who is Jesus? Jesus didn't come to take us to heaven. Let that sink in for a moment.
0:21.6	Go through the Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and look at all the purpose
0:25.8	statements Jesus gave of why he came and you'll never find one that says what most of us believe, that is that Jesus came to take us out of
0:36.2	this world and get us off into heaven. He never said that. He had a much bigger plan than that. Jesus came to heal our world. Now many
0:48.3	Christians today don't have a category for that. Jesus wants to heal our world? See most of us probably think that
0:56.0	Jesus is going to return someday, take everybody off to heaven, destroy this world
1:00.7	and maybe start over. But I'm pretty sure that's not the case. And Jesus
1:05.4	was clear that it was through him that God's kingdom would come on earth as it is
1:10.0	in heaven. Jesus's plan was to heal the world. Now Patrick and I doing some stuff
1:16.0	over on YouTube we're teaching a class called Who is Jesus and we have a whole
1:20.1	session on that we don't believe in Take Me to Heaven Jesus. If you're

1:28.3	YouTube provides us an opportunity to spend a little bit more time to show some pictures and images,

1:40.5	One of the reasons that Christians have come to the wrong conclusion about Jesus' mission
1:45.9	is because we have this tendency to skip over the first half of the story and start in the
1:51.0	middle. War of the Worlds was a radio drama in the late 1930s.
1:57.0	And the story of the War of the World was that aliens had invaded our country
2:02.0	and were taking it over.. Well it's a fictional story
2:04.9	obviously right? But a lot of people didn't tune into the beginning where it was
