I'm not a doctor, not a licensed personal trainer. I'm simply a guy who loves walking, even when it is windy and chilly,

as it is this morning. Since 2013, I've averaged 19,000 steps a day. So how do I do that? Well,

first off, it's important to know that this is not a goal. I don't wake up in the morning and think about getting 19,000 steps a day. How am I going to do that? How am I going to reach 19,000 for the day? I haven't actually had a walking goal, a step goal for probably about five years. Now, for many years I did, I had a step goal, which was 20,000.

Sometimes it was a little bit higher than that, sometimes a little bit lower than that.

But for the last four to five years, I don't even pay attention to the number that is on my step tracker.

In fact, at the moment, I couldn't tell you how many steps I have.

Because this habit of walking every day is a habit that I love,
