Ooh, three minutes after ten is the time. Very good morning indeed to you. I'm in a bit of a pickle this morning. I always relax a bit on Thursdays. If you can't work out why, then you're in for a treat at 12 o'clock. And no doubt, several utterly shameless board game plugs. But I always relax bit on a thursday because we have two hours

of programming proper and one hour of fun and frolics when when mystery out kicks in but today's a bit

different today is one of those days where i don't know where to start with the news i know roughly

what i want to talk about but i'm not sure that the issues i want to talk about are necessarily the issues you will want to talk about.

And I am suffering from a very, very bad case of Londonitis.

I suffer from it occasionally.

I don't think I'm the worst offender when it comes to Londonism.

But there are days, you know,

when I might be telling you about problems with a cycle lane in South London.

And I suddenly sort of realise, I wonder whether anybody in Glasgow or Manchester or Liverpool or Birmingham or Leicester or Nottingham or Edinburgh or Dundee or Cardiff or Wrexham or Bristol. Does anybody really care about a cycle lane in Stoke Newington? I get a bit of an attack of Londonitis

once a month when Sadiq Carl comes into the studio, the mayor of London, because of course his

realm extends only to the boundaries of the

M25 or thereabouts. And I do sometimes worry about whether or not anybody else gives a hoot.

But of course, the reassurance that one brings into proceedings is that it doesn't really matter what we're talking about during our time together every day.

This is what I think, of course, you may completely disagree.

It doesn't necessarily, I think how we talk about it matters more than what we talk about.

I hope so at least.

I'd like to think that, you know, if we can extract a little bit of

illumination or levity from the, from the thinnest of gruel, then it's worth spending our time

together. The other side of Londonitis, one of the major symptoms, if not the major

symptom of Londonitis, is not the worry about some of the stuff that we talk about in this

sort of bubble in the southeast being irrelevant to people elsewhere in the country. The more
