and they probably have that question hanging over their heads, what am I going to do with

the rest of my life? And if they're Christians, hopefully they're thinking about what is

Now, it's been a while since I've been in their shoes, but I'm not so old that I don't remember.

The fear, I guess, that maybe hangs over your head when you're trying to decide, what do I do with my life? And what if I mess this up? What if I decide to do something that's not God's will?

You've obviously been a pastor. You've got

children, so you've answered this question firsthand many times. What advice do you have for students

out who are trying to be, trying to figure out what God's will for their life is? And let's not

just limit it to students. They might be far removed from high school or college. How do you

determine what does God want you to do

for the rest of your life? That's an important question. And I do have a chapter and a book and

several related chapters in my book, The Apostolic Life. And I talk about knowing God's will. I talk

about career, planning, and God's will, and so forth. But the first thing I would

like to say is we need to demystify the will of God. God's will is not meant to be mysterious,

far off, difficult. Sometimes we treat it as if we're groping in a fog, and maybe one day we'll find

God's perfect will for a whole life.

But Colossians 1-9, New King James, Paul says, for this reason, we also, since the day

we heard it, do not cease to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge
