My definition through a lens of mental health for critical thinking,

is the analysis and evaluation of factual and intuitive evidence to form discernment.

Highly sensitive people and survivors are easily manipulated because of their big empathy and big hearts.

It's why so many of us have narcissistic patterns of attraction.

So we need to be able to practice discernment and we need to be able to critically think appropriately to be able to practice discernment, and we need to be able to critically think appropriately

to be able to get to discernment. The end goal of critical thinking is to be able to make

really great decisions for our lives, and hopefully decisions that bring lightness and ease,

not unnecessary struggle. This is part of why it's a pretty big deal for a highly

sensitive person or a survivor to learn how to heal and manage anxiety and fear, because anxiety

and fear shut down or override our intuitive information and our best critical thinking.
