0:20.8	So I said at the very beginning of this series that we have to keep in mind that critical
0:25.9	race theory is, as critical race theory does.
0:27.7	I know it's kind of trite and forced comfy, but it's true.
0:31.2	The critical theory, as we heard this morning, is defined by its social activism, by its
0:37.4	commitment to social activism and by doing social activism in a particular way in service
0:41.4	to its vision and its ideology, that vision, of course, is an idealized version of society,
0:48.1	certain historical possibilities that have become regarded as utopian possibilities.
0:54.5	And so we have to understand what critical race theory does in order to understand fully
0:59.7	what it is, but if we're going to attempt to counter critical race theory, we also have
1:02.9	to know how it behaves.
1:05.2	You hear repeatedly, for example, right now, the critical race theory is not taught in schools,
1:09.4	and everybody knows that this is somehow a lie, and it's not clear how it somehow lie.
1:13.8	And we say that critical race practices being done in schools is the correct way to understand
1:19.0	that.
1:20.1	That a critical theory must contain critical practice.
1:23.8	To be a critical theory by the third definitional requirement, then critical race practice is
1:28.4	required by definition as a part of critical race theory.
1:31.0	So if you taught about critical race theory the way that I'm teaching about critical race
