Today we’re going to talk about the relationship between the coronavirus and your lungs.
The word “corona” comes from the word “crown.” The coronavirus has small projections that look like a little crown—the little projections like lung tissue.
In certain cases, especially critical coronavirus cases, a person can develop a condition called ARDS (acute respiratory distress syndrome). This is a situation where you have severe hypoxia, which means you have a lack of oxygen.
Other symptoms are:
• Rapid breathing
• Dizziness
• Breathlessness
• Sweating
What’s missing with COVID-19 is two nutrients:
1. Vitamin D
2. Zinc
90% of patients with ARDS have very low vitamin D levels.
• Vitamin D is an immune modulator
• It can help greatly improve the immune system
• It’s a great anti-inflammatory
Zinc is one of the most important nutrients for your lungs.
• It can help reduce inflammation
• If you’re deficient in zinc, an infection can last longer
• If you’re deficient in zinc, you’re more susceptible to infections, viruses, and bacteria
• If you’re deficient in zinc, you don’t have the full capacity of your white blood cells (your army)

| 0:49.0 | So the word Corona comes from a crown because the coronavirus has these little projections that look like a little crown and these little projections have affinity for. So in certain cases, especially if you're critical or it's very, very severe, |

| 1:29.0 | And here's what's happening. |
| 1:31.0 | At the very end of your bronchial tree you have these little |
| 1:35.2 | air sacks. They're called a violi alive and they're just these little empty sacks |
| 1:40.1 | okay that have a very thin wall and they butt up against these tiny capillaries. |
| 1:48.0 | So what's happening is we have the oxygen coming in and it can very easily diffuse through this one cell layer wall on both sides goes into the |
| 1:57.1 | red blood cells. |
| 1:58.1 | So now the blood cells can be oxygenated and you can make hemoglobin and that's carried through the entire body. |
| 2:04.5 | You also have the exchange of CO2 that comes the other way so you can exhale the CO2 out and |
| 2:10.6 | breathe in the O2. |
| 2:11.6 | So you have this exchange of oxygen. But this virus having |
| 2:15.6 | affinity for the lung tissue starts to create damage around the lining through here and on the capillaries on the other side. |
