Summary

Ignatius of Antioch said that "Christianity is greatest when it is hated by the world." Facing an overwhelmingly dark and hostile culture, Rome's early Christians took the steps necessary to transform it—laying the foundation for a Judeo-Christian culture that changed civilization for centuries to come. As we watch Western Civilization crumble, learning from the struggles and lessons of early Christians affords us hope that, by imitating their example, we may do the same for our culture today.

Hank Hanegraaff is joined by James Papandrea, co-author of How Christianity Saved Civilization…And Must Do So Again, to discuss how Christianity might, once again, transform our dark and hostile culture.

It's a book titled How Christianity Save Civilization, the subtitle, and Must Do So the time is now. So this is a very timely book.

You can find the book on the web at EQUIPP.org available for anyone who stands shoulder to

shoulder with us in the battle for life and truth. I want to start the podcast with a quote from this book that I found absolutely intoxicating.

1:17.3

And in some ways, this quote sums up the book.

1:22.0

Again, this is a quote from how Christianity saves civilization and must do so again by James Papandrea and Mike Aquilina.

And it is a rather unsettling quote from a Scottish law professor by the name of Alexander

Fraser Titler. And it was written in 1770, or thereabouts. So let me read this quote. You can find it in the book,

1:49.7

and this book is full of terrific quotes like this. But Alexander Frazier, Titler, writes,

It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largest from the public treasury.
