The work of teaching the Bible to another person, whether that's behind a pulpit in preaching,

in a living room with a small group, or sitting across the dinner table with a son or daughter,

is a high and weighty responsibility. We know that God's Word is powerful in its own right,

accomplishing His purposes in human hearts and minds. And yet we also know that God's word is powerful in its own right, accomplishing his purposes in human

hearts and minds.

And yet we also know that God uses people to share and explain that word with others.

But what does it look like to faithfully teach the Bible to another person?

How do I do that?

That's the question I posed to my guest today.

David Helm serves as senior pastor of Christchurch, Chicago,

and as chairman of the board for the Charles Simeon Trust,

an organization that promotes practical instruction in preaching and teaching God's Word.

In our conversation, he reflects on what faithful Bible teaching looks like in a variety

of contexts, offering advice related to preparation, dealing with anxiety, and relying on the

Holy Spirit through the whole process.
