What I think is happening is the people creating this type of content are creating outrage bait or engagement bait that is more designed to get people to signal to the algorithm that this is something that should be boosted.

It's still hard to believe that the show is now five years old, but, you know, I think it's heading into this year in a great place. And in part of that is thanks to those of you who are supporting the work that goes into making it every single week. We set two

goals last month to get 100 new supporters to make a new series on defense tech and the

relationship between Silicon Valley and the Pentagon. We hit that goal and I will start working

on that soon with the goal of getting it out into the world in the fall. So you can all hear

it then and hopefully we can have a

broader discussion about this important topic at that moment. Our second goal, even higher goal,

more ambitious, was to make a zine. We did not hit that goal. But who knows? We'll see if maybe

that project will come back in another form. But for now, I'll be focused on that series in the

fall. And on top of that, I'll be focused on that series in the fall.

And on top of that, I wanted to give you an early indication of something else, because I'm also

working on another special series that I think will be rather important in telling a story

that, you know, maybe people have a certain idea of, but probably don't know the specifics of, and that is of the

privatization of the internet. One thing people might not realize is that this year is the 30th

anniversary of, you know, what we often consider to be the privatization of the internet.

And it happened right around this time, if you consider the decommissioning of the public

I was hoping to have that series ready for around now, but things have been a little busy,

so I've had to delay it a little bit. So stay tuned for more information on that, but I just
