So today's question comes from an old book actually that I found and it's a

0:17.2

great question. It's a question that gardeners of all different skill levels but specifically beginners will ask a lot and the question is this

0:26.4

How large of a plot should I have to make it worthwhile to even grow vegetables?

0:31.5

Which is a great question because if you're just starting out,

0:34.8

you kind of want to know, hey, am I even going to get enough

1:21.2

many root vegetables will fall into this category. Green onions, carrots, radishes,

1:27.0

turnips, and then of course you can do a lot of leafy greens like spinach, mustard, crests, loosely for headed lettuce, and you can get quite a significant

1:36.6

harvest out of a space as small as 2 by 6 feet, 10 by 10 feet, 5 by 10 feet, any of these small spots that maybe you can just squeeze into a yard somewhere.

1:47.0

However, a really good and classic size for a small plot is anywhere from 10 by 25 feet up to 30 by 50 feet.

1:58.0

So 10 by 25 feet will get you quite a significant harvest if you're managing and growing well,
