Good morning. I'm Anna Palmer. And I'm Jake Sherman. And welcome to The Daily Punch, brought you by Punch Bowl News. It's Wednesday, July 3rd, 2024. Let's get into the mix. Here are your

Washington headlines of the day. Number one, Dem worry grows about President Joe Biden

and then run for a second term. Number two, the NATO summit next week. We tee it up. And number three,

we've got the latest from the canvas. All right, Jake, happy Wednesday. There is a lot happening despite the upcoming July 4th holiday,

particularly on Capitol Hill, because man, oh man, the fallout continues following President

Joe Biden's terrible Thursday night debate. He certainly lost that debate

against former President Donald Trump, and now he's losing the debate after the debate in a

resounding and embarrassing fashion. Hill Democrats growing increasingly wary of sticking with Biden

following his disastrous performance in Atlanta.

One thing, and we'll get really into it, but pretty quickly, but the thing that I think is most interesting is that this follow out is happening despite the fact that members of Congress

are back in their districts, back in their home states. Typically, when there's a loss in any kind of, you know, whether it's legislative or it's

electoral and kind of people go home and they lick their wounds, it's a time of reprieve, right?

But this is not happening. You're seeing more and more consternation. I feel like there's

kind of a growing sense of a need for a change for President Joe Biden.

Yeah, there's no question about it. Anna, a few things to note. Number one, the president's team is not doing the outreach to members of Congress that it needs to.
