Hello, welcome back to another T-Rex talk. I mentioned last week that I was going to have an interview.

0:07.4

And I shot the interview, and the interview is coming up. And I almost rolled a show just by going

0:12.9

straight to that pre-taped interview, but I wanted to talk about some stuff that happened this past week.

0:18.5

So, apparently on the third, the ATF sent a cease

0:23.8

and desist letter to Q the firearm manufacturing company that makes the Honey Badger, and they

0:29.8

basically disallowed the existence, the legal existence of the pistol brace that is on the Honey Badger,

0:38.0

which is a kind of an interesting thing to do, and I'll talk about why in a minute.

0:42.2

But on the interwebs, there have been various people responding to this letter in various ways.

0:49.0

Generally speaking, there has been round condemnation of this particular letter, this particular stance, this particular action that the ATF has taken.

0:59.0

And then there's some other people who talk about the fact that this is a nuanced issue with multiple layers.

1:06.0

We should look at all the facts. And believe it or not, I completely agree with all of those people,

1:12.6

because this is a multi-layered issue. And every single layer of what is happening should really

1:18.4

be condemned as vociferously as possible. So let's go through a couple of the things that I wanted

1:25.9

to talk about. So one of the things that's interesting about the letter is they have specifically picked Q,

1:31.5

which is, I would say, a medium-sized manufacturer.

1:34.5

Like in some ways, they're a small firearm manufacturer.

1:38.0

They're not SIG or Remington.

1:40.1

And they've gone out of their way to pick a specific brace, a brace that is not

1:47.0

very widespread. It's not a brace that's on every gun. It's not something from SBA, but it is

1:52.8

nevertheless a brace that has been on the market for years, and there's tens of thousands of

1:58.0

them out there. The ATF has made it clear before that pistol braces are okay.

2:03.4

It's okay to put a pistol brace on a pistol.
