Hey there, my friends. I want to start out today asking you a question, if you were to stand before God

and he were to ask you, why should I allow you into my heaven? How would you answer? You see,

it's not uncommon for people to say things like, well, I tried to be a

good person and I think my good deeds outweighed my bad deeds. But you know what? That is not a

biblical concept. The Bible does not teach us that's how we get into heaven. It's by living a better

life than a worse life. What the Bible teaches us is entirely different than that.

We're going to get into that today in 1st Peter chapter 1,

verses 17 through 19.

looking at verses 17 through 19, and I want to pause for a moment and ask God to be our teacher

today. God, by your Holy Spirit, you've promised us that you will guide us into all

truth. And we want you to do that today. Show us this truth about how and when you judge us by our

deeds and help us to keep it straight in our minds as we learn it. We ask it in Jesus' name. Amen.

Okay, we're looking at 1st Peter chapter 1, verse 17 through 19.
