Well, hello there. Welcome back to the morning mindset. I'm glad you're with me. My name is

Carrie. I am a pastor and a teacher of the Bible, and I am here to help you get your mind aligned with the

truth of God for this day. We're doing that most recently by looking at the book of 1st Peter chapter 1. Today we'll

be looking at verses 14 through 16. So get out your Bibles. We'll be digging into that in just a

1, 1, 14 through 16, it's time for us to pray. Our God, we need your help as we endeavor to understand your word, so please speak to us on the deepest

level of our soul. Give us an understanding of your truth in a way that is beyond our comprehension,

because it is truly from you, Lord. Change us by your word. We ask it in Jesus' name. Amen.

Okay, again, 1st Peter chapter 1,

verses 14 through 16. This is the Apostle Peter, one of Jesus disciples, who's writing,

and he's writing this letter, two believers in Jesus Christ, just like you and me. And here's what he says in verse 14. He says, as obedient

children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance. But as he who called you is

holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written shall be holy for i am holy okay so as peter is

instructing us in what it looks like to be a believer in jesus christ he's giving us this instruction

and he uses the illustration of children obeying their parents. He's saying just like a child

would obey their parent. When the parent gives them instruction or gives them a rule, you are to obey God.

Because God who called you is holy. Now what does that word holy mean? Well, sometimes we think it means pure, and there definitely is a sense of purity to it.
