this moment, just the news of the last few weeks, marks more than a transition point.

We may be on the verge of a fundamental rupture in the human story.

On the Dorcasch podcast recently, Dario Ambide, CEO of Anthropic, admitted that he is struggling

with the cognitive dissonance of this current moment.

He said, to me, it is absolutely wild that, you know, you have people, you know, within the bubble

and outside the bubble, you know, but you have people talking about these, these, you know,

just the same tired old hot button political issues and like,

you know, around us were like near the end of the exponential.

Amadei believes that we are approaching what he calls powerful AI, systems smarter than a Nobel

prize winner in every field from biology to engineering and endlessly replicable.

He thinks this intelligence is potentially imminent, perhaps arriving as early as next year,

and that we're facing a tsunami that our society is choosing to ignore at our peril.

Now, for many of us, this sounds like a fever dream or another round of the Silicon Valley hype cycle.

We see the hallucinations, we see the clumsy chatbots, and we wonder if we're being sold a trillion-dollar illusion.

But here's the problem. The models are now starting to build themselves and demonstrate PhD-level competency.

OpenAI and Anthropic have both stated that their latest models are already architecting the code and the training modules for their successors.

Whether this is a civilizational shift or a massive collective delusion,

there is no doubt that the people closest to this technological revolution believe that we

are now crossing a Rubicon. On the Moonshots podcast in January, Elon Musk gave this

rather counterintuitive financial advice.
