About 18 months ago, I met my wonderful podcast guest, Meaghan B. Murphy. We were both at a big media event (where I was on stage pitching to speakers, she being one of them), and afterwards, I wrote to her and thanked her for her feedback and critique. We have stayed in touch ever since, and I was so excited to finally have her on the podcast because her story is absolutely incredible. Meaghan is the author of Your Fully Charged Life - where she shares her best tips & tricks for having endless energy and happiness. She is a longtime magazine editor, writer, on-air personality expert, podcaster, and certified trainer (wow!). But, she had a very tough childhood before all that. Growing up, her nickname was “Grumpy” because she was always so miserable and negative. Her teen years were no different as she found herself a raging anorexic to cover up the inner negative turmoil in her head. Her anorexia got so bad that she was admitted to the hospital. Her best friend (also an anorexic) was on her way to the same hospital when she jumped from the car and died. Tormented by her friend’s death, Meaghan struggled for many years. But she eventually decided that her mess would become her message. Well, another interview, actually, I've been really enjoying doing the interviews recently, and you guys seem to have been enjoying them too. So I'm just going to keep pumping them out for as long as it suits us both.

0:29.7	Now, Megan and I met about 18 months ago, quite by accident, whenever I went to an event in New York.

0:39.0	on the panel and I was actually up on the stage pitching to the speakers as part of the media
0:44.0	event that was being held and afterwards I wrote to Megan and I thanked her for you know
0:50.2	her critique and her feedback as I did with all of the people here on the panel.
0:56.6	And she wrote back to me and was like, oh, my God, I loved you.
0:58.0	I thought you were amazing, blah, blah, blah.
1:01.2	And then I said, you know, and she said, and I loved your shoes.
1:03.5	And I was like, well, send me your address on your shoe size.
1:11.3	And I will send up a pair of the shoes in her size, which were incredible,
1:16.9	sparkly, well, they were black, actually, with sparkles and green and emeralds and diamonds.
1:17.8	Oh my God, they were incredible.
1:22.7	And we sent them to her and she and I are now shoe twins because she has them and I have them and we just connected over shoes as you do.
1:29.7	So Megan and I have stayed in touch ever since.
1:34.7	She was editor, well, no, executive editor, I think she said, of Good Housekeeping Magazine at the time.
1:41.0	She is now editor-in-chief of Women's Day magazine. She's worked for Hearst magazines for many, many years,
1:46.3	and her story really is quite phenomenal. And the reason why I wanted to have her on the podcast today is because she has just released a brand new book called Your Fully Charged Life,
