Summary

The best Captains control the controllable. One of the most controllable factors in fishing is knot strength. We can practice our knots off the water and test them on a Force Tester or Scale to get accurate data on which knot consistently tests higher than another. This not only allows you to tie the strongest knots possible but also to have confidence in your abilities and know exactly how hard you can pull. 0:56.5	And that's exactly what I'm going to show you how to do today.
0:58.3	And this is what I do to determine the knots that I'm going to tie and there are I will say this there are some
1:05.6	knots that someone else might tie stronger than your knots and but it's all about
1:11.6	what you tie so you want to test your knots the way you tie them
1:16.8	with the material that you use with the glove that you use with everything that you use so that you're going to replicate that
1:24.8	perfectly when you go out on the boat and you're going to know whether you're tying the
1:29.3	strongest not or a week or not. So today we're going to use the J-Braid 8, which is 20-pound test,
1:37.6	D'I-Oa, right there. That's what I tied these knots with and we're going to tie the 20-pound
1:41.8	test to 50-pound test floor carbon. with and we're going to tie the 20 pound test
1:43.7	floor carbon J fluoro and this is what I use all the time I use these two so
1:49.6	these are the ones that I'm going to test I don't want to experiment with
1:52.1	some new ones at home'm going to test. I don't want to experiment with some new ones at home. I want to try exactly what I'm going to use on the boat.
1:56.6	Now in order to do any sort of a test, you need a scale. And this is a fancy scale that I'm very thankful to have.
