Summary

The Knot Wars return this week with a closer look at the Blood Knot. Conventional wisdom says that the tag end of a blood knot should come out in opposite ways but if they come out the same way does it make a difference? The answer may surprise you! It’s one thing to say one knot is better than the other but for the knot wars we test these knots head to head using the same line on a Next Tech ForceTester. The most important part of being a great angler is to control the controllable and their is no better example of that than properly preparing your tackle. If you want to learn how to tie the knots mentioned in this video plus 40 other knots check out the Tom Rowland Knot Course on Waypoint. https://waypointtv.com/tom-rowland-fishing-knots-course Sign Up for the 2023 10k Push-Up Challenge: https://tomrowlandpodcast.com/pushups This podcast is presented by Black Rifle Coffee  Use code BLASTOFF25 for 25% off Salt Strong Insiders Club: https://bit.ly/RowlandMembership LMNT Electrolytes Special Offer: http://DrinkLMNT.com/TomRowland If you have questions or suggestions for the show you can text Tom at 1 305-930-7346 This episode has been brought to you by Waypoint TV. Waypoint is the ultimate outdoor network featuring streaming of full-length fishing and hunting television shows, short films and instructional content, a social media network, Podcast Network. no matter if you're taught this knot in fresh water

or salt water, you're taught to make a number of turns

1:02.0

around one side, put the line through the whole, make a number of

1:05.6

turns on the other side, and put the line through the opposite way. And when people see you tie it

1:12.1

incorrectly, no, no, no, don't do that they have to go out they

1:15.1

can't come out the same hole they've got to go out so that they look like like this one

1:29.8

so the so that the tag-ins come out of the of the knot and they go to both sides very even I left the tag-ins on here so you can see what I'm talking about.

1:35.0

That's a properly tied blood knot as I was taught a blood knot.

1:40.0

Well, I just kind of wondered, well, what is the difference in the strength between a properly tied

1:49.3

blood knot where the tag-ins go out opposite ways and one that they go out the same way because a lot of people

1:56.4

accidentally tie it like this. Who knows? What we're going to do here on Not Wars is find out which is stronger so the common wisdom is that they must be

tied with the tag-ins going out opposite ways. So I have one tied with the
