Hey, pull up a chair. It's hacks on tap with David Axelrod and Mike Murphy.

0:23.4

Mike, before we hack it up about the upcoming debate in the election in North Carolina, we have to

0:30.8

note that today is 9-11. A date that Americans will always remember a date of horror, but also one

0:37.9

that defined really in many ways the next decade and have now 18 years of politics, public policy.

0:46.8

But more important, let's remember those who lost their lives that day, their loved ones,

0:54.4

and all those heroic first responders who are emblazoned in our memory for responding to that

1:01.7

horrific event. It was a time of incredible selfless sacrifice and many, many heroes were created.

1:08.0

It was a true crisis for our country and we rose to it, which is why it can never be forgotten and

1:13.6

remembered as like today's and going forward or so important. It's a part of history that I'd

1:39.4

disappointed Democrats had Dan Bishop, the Republican one, but it was an overwhelmingly Republican

1:44.2

district. So he kind of have to look beyond the numbers. Well, look, I mean, Trump came away with a

1:49.7

win and he can claim some credit for it. He cut down the margin in Fayetteville in that area where he

1:57.5

visited to campaign. But man, this suburban thing is an issue for him. And you know, he won that

2:04.3

district by 12. His guy won it by two. If he starts losing these areas like that, it's going to

2:12.1

make states competitive that weren't competitive and it's going to take some of these battlegrounds

2:16.3

right out of play for him. So I think that losing would have been a disaster, but winning this closely

2:23.9

is a huge warning sign. Yeah. Now I'm with you on this. It's one of these deals where it looks,

2:28.9

it's like watching Keith Richards run up three flights of stairs. It's pretty impressive, but you
