The The From fire comes darkness.

That's the tagline, the motto of season three.

It's a fitting name.

Nothing good comes from all this burning.

Fire consumes.

It gives light as long as it has something to consume, but when that's gone, yeah, you're left with darkness.

Nothing.

A recurring theme of the earlier seasons was mitigation, constraint, or restraint, or not constraint,

containment, we should say. Vissaris did a bad job of it, but he tried to stop his family

from fighting. He had the right idea, just not very good skills. There was some restraint

slash compartmentalizing of the violence even after the death of Luke

and even after blood and cheese and then Eric and Arc. It was still mostly just the two families

going at it. They hadn't really dragged a lot of other people into it. But by the end of season two,

several families have been dragged into it.

Some have been murdered or had their lords killed or their places burned.

And nearly everyone else is on the march or on the sail, right?

There's northerners coming down, southerners coming up,

Associans sailing over. You got the Valerians at sea.

I mean, it is really quite set up to be like the storm of swords of the dance of the dragons,

right?

This is the most deadly, the most decisive when all that restraint and compartmentalizing is replaced by the Game of Thrones
