Daniel J says I really love this week's episode. I feel like the show has found its voice and I love the ways in which it's decidedly not Game of Thrones.

So far there's been no cartoonishly evil characters like Joffrey or Ramsay, no white walkers, just real people with complex motivations and flaws.

Even politically ambitious players like Otto are grounded in decency.

Crab feeder might have been a real piece of shit, but we didn't get to know him.

Didn't look like he had a lot of redeeming, you know, I don't even know if he could take that mask off.

It might have fused to his barnacle face who knows.

Yeah, and Damon is not a cartoon character. He's petty, he's in petrol and he's a child.

He's all those things, but he's not a cartoon.

No, if he was and Ranera walked into that silka street joint, he would have gone awoo and his face would have turned into a wolf and his tongue and rolled out.

So that's right away how you can tell he's not a cartoon character.

The series is most emblematic of the show's tone, Janiel opines. He's flawed, but sweet, passionate, but tortured.
