We were just watching another tribute to Lee Corso as we say hello to Ryan McGee.

Ryan, you've written about him.

You obviously know him as many do for so long.

There's no easy way to put it into perspective, but give it a shot.

Well, I tried to in a column I wrote this week, and they came to me back in May.

ESPN.com did, and they said, we want you to write a story about Lee Corso leading into the last

game day.

And honestly, you know, I've been doing this for a minute. I don't, there aren't a lot of assignments where I just go, oh, no, how I'm going to do that. But I wrestled with this one. And but then, you know, I talked to them in and let me do it as a column because, you know, I started, you know this. I started as a production assistant at uspn 30 years ago and so i had the experience

of cutting highlights for game day right before the show really hit the road i think the 94 which

was my first fall there they were only in the road looked four or five times and so coach corso would

come in and and talk to you about your highlight that you cut and i had grown up watching him at that point. I started watching him in high school and watched him. I'm in college at Tennessee. We wake up on Saturday morning. We watch game day. And then we go to the game and come back that night and yell at him if he was wrong on the scoreboard show that night. And so to sit there in an edit room and him walk in and go,

let's talk about, we've got to have this play in this highlighter.
