Adam Schefter reporting within the last half hour that Dexter Lawrence coming off of a down year for the Giants a year ago,

still playing on a contract that appears to be a steel or at least below his market value.

Dexter Lawrence has told the New York Giants he would like to be traded.

The timing of it is very interesting.

The draft is in a week and a half.

And by the way, speaking of the NFL draft, this would be a nice time to tell you that we are

going to have a big NFL WFAN draft party on the FAN rooftop.

We're going to have some food, have some drinks,

and everybody around here is going to give our raw reaction

to what goes down as the picks are coming in.

It's going to feature boomer, geo, recco, me,

Tiki, Sean, carton, Big Mac.

We're all going to be hanging out there talking draft.

That's April 23rd, beginning at 7.30 on the FAN YouTube page, Instagram, X, Facebook, all there for you on draft night.

My gut is, my initial reaction is, if the New York Giants are going to trade Dexter Lawrence,

if that's what they're ultimately going to do, it is absolutely happening in the next week and a half. It wouldn't make sense otherwise. Right, because then you're trading him for draft picks for next season and it doesn't benefit you now. So I think this moves quick. I think if they hold onto him through the draft, that would be a sign to me that they're really going to try to make this work and put another band-aid over this with a brand-new contract and make Dexter happy. I doubt they're going to go in a camp and say, we dare you to not show up. Yeah. Well, I mean, that's ultimately what's going to come down to, but that's not going to benefit Dexter at all.

Which one? Making him come to camp without a new contract? Yeah. Or it's, well, him holding out,

him not showing up, him not being around, because that's kind of what precipitated where we are now.

Obviously, he had a shoulder or an elbow, elbow injury last year. So he missed time.

He came into camp. He wasn't in great shape. It took him a while to get back.

Things kind of just started to fall apart early on in the season. And he had a subpar year.
