It's a Friday and that means looking back at some of the best sound we heard from the week.

These aren't just our interviews. It's some great sound we heard kind of sticking with us after this one. For instance, earlier this week, we heard a really fascinating stat from Ryan Roland Smith. I actually played this a little earlier in the show. So if you've been listening all four hours, a little bit of repeat here. However, Bump and I thought it was fascinating.

We've been talking about it since this interview.

With Cal, I'm just kind of waiting for, is he going to get to that heater?

Right now, he's swinging miss rate on basketballs, anything, 94 miles per hour, and is around 90% swinging miss.

Which, look, it's something he'll correct.

I just, again, like, you know, I spoke to you guys about, I spoke to you, when you guys

were walking through the stadium yesterday, just about the WBC.

Those guys are going to be a couple weeks behind, I think.

That's a wild stat.

And maybe someone who knows way more about baseball than I do can be like, no, it's

actually pretty normal. But something about a swing and miss on pretty much any fastball over

94, 95 miles per hour feels like a lost approach. Again, a phenomenal player. Like, I'm not

questioning anything long term. But that is a concerning stat for right now, for short term. Yeah, this means his timing is off. He's not seeing it. And, I mean, we, who'd you play? Sorry, I don't want to say his name. It turns into a bad word. Schlittler. Schlettler, thank you. And all he did was throw fastballs. I know I'm just, I'm scared. I get it. I get it. We talked about his, what, his cutter, his four seam, two scene, singer. Like, he had so many types of fastballs that I would imagine if I'm cow and I'm struggling, it's like, man, I can't see anything. This one's dipping right. This one's left. This one's high. This one's sinking. You know, it's has to be frustrating, especially when you're in a slump like this. And typically, Cal's been good at hitting the fastball. It just says time is off. He's not seeing the, he's not seeing the ball. Yeah, I like the way that Mike Salk explained it this morning. I hopped on with his show for like 10 minutes. And he was like, it's really a two things are true at the same time thing right now for the Mariners, which is you know it is a long season and that Calhulio and Naylor are great players.

Yeah. And given the choice, you're like, absolutely I want these guys on the Mariners.

Are you kidding me? Yes. What you also know to be true is like what a quality AB looks like

and what an appearance looks like from a guy who's kind of struggling.

And we're seeing a lot of the latter with these guys.
