Summary

Klein.Ally.Show on KROQ is more than just a "dynamic, irreverent morning radio show that mixes humor, pop culture, and unpredictable conversation with a heavy dose of realness." (but thanks for that quote anyway). Hosted by Klein, Ally, and a cast of weirdos (both on the team and from their audience), the show is known for its raw, offbeat style, offering a mix of sarcastic banter, candid interviews, and an unfiltered take on everything from culture to the chaos of everyday life. With a loyal, engaged fanbase and an addiction for pushing boundaries, the show delivers the perfect blend of humor and insight, all while keeping things fun, fresh, and sometimes a little bit illegal.

And as always, the parking in San Bernardino International Airport is only five bucks. That's right. Five dollars. Go to San Francisco, Provo, Utah. Make your winter dreams come true at San Bernardino International Airport. This is the world famous K. Rock. Hell yeah. Welcome to your K Rock. Just after 9 o'clock. Let's get you some Disneyland tickets.

We're doing that all day, all week. 9 noon, 3, and 6, 4 packs of tickets. You can go to Disneyland. I know that's why you're really here. And then we will world premieres from new music with our very special morning show correspondent, Megan Holiday, who is hanging out with a band down at the K Rock

Studios on ground level.

It's a band down at the K-Rock Studios on ground level. It's a band too big to talk to us. They're not going to take the elevator up, Al. They're going to talk to Megan Holiday down below. We are not worth the elevator trip. No. Also, this hour will be joined in studio by our good buddy Greg Fitzsimmons. Back at it again for another pre-St. Patti's Day hang in the K-Rock Studios. Let me say good morning to call it 20 right now, which puts us on Mark and Claire on. Hey, Mark, good morning. Yo, what's up? Let's go boy! You are going to Disneyland with four tickets. Congratulations. Have fun and enjoy all of the churros you can handle.

1:28.9

Awesome. Thanks so much. You're very welcome. Thank you. Starting your day with us. Love that energy.

1:34.1

All right. Let's head downstairs right now to Megan Holiday, hanging out with, I'll let her tell you

1:41.9

which band she's hanging out with, and then we'll listen to some brand new music from that band. World premiere on Krak. Hello, Megan. All right. Thank you. Klein Alley Show. It's your girl, Megan Holiday. I'm here downstairs with Ben and Nick of Death Cat for Cutie. Hello. I'm so excited that you are here today because we are about to debut your brand new song, Rip Tides.

And this is going to be off of your brand new album.

2:06.8

I've built you a tower, which is coming out on June 5th.

2:10.1

So tell us about this new album.

2:13.1

This is a much more stripped down version of Death Cab for Q than maybe people have heard in a while probably.

2:19.3

I think it's more akin to our first three-ish records as far as, it's not a super adorned record.

2:28.3

It's a very raw kind of rock record.

2:31.3

And we just wanted to get back in a room and just have our band sound like what we sound like when we play live. So I feel it's pretty immediate and, uh, there's some pretty loud stuff on it. And, uh, as we get older, we're just kind of raging against the dying of the light. Just want to make as much noise as we possibly can. Hell yeah. And we appreciate you for that. I also feel like in this album, especially with this song, Riptides that we're about to play, we're going to world premiere it right now. The lyrics are just so poignant to what is going on in the world, and I'm just going to reference them. I'm too tired to talk. I'm too tired to end the war, and I can't seem to hold it together anymore. Obviously, you wrote this song a while ago. But for all of us right now who are just going through things and the world is, you know, going through stuff, can you just talk a little bit about where you were at when you were writing this song? Well, first, let's say, I really wish it was not as relatable as it is right now

3:25.9

given what's going on in the middle east but um uh you know i i was going through an incredibly

3:30.8

difficult time personally uh and the world also seemed to be on fire and i think we've all

3:37.3

experienced this something like this where we are going through a personal turmoil or pain or trauma or whatever might be.

3:45.1

And there are things happening in the world that seem so much larger than us.
