that again who is Courtney Morgan and why is he so important to the program?

Tell us who this unknown person is

to most of us fans, but apparently inside the beltway he's quite well known.

Keeping the rosters of both teams that were in the national championship game in January,

spending years, director of player personnel at Michigan, helped them find some really quality players.

And after that was at Washington with Caitlin de Boer and helped turn that thing around.

The title now is General Manager, which I think is really a reflection of doing more than just the recruiting piece of it.

NFL fans will know what that role sort of means.

It's a little bit different in college in the sense that the head coach is ultimately the one in charge, but it's also a sign of where college football is going beginning to mimic more and more of the NFL when you're talking about the transfer portal looking like free agency recruiting high school recruiting basically being the NFL draft and then you have this NIL piece on top of it so now you've got all of these moving parts

that you're dealing with on a constant basis because we have the transfer portal

opening multiple times a year you can go in as many times as you want.

So you need somebody with their pulse on all of it.

That's basically the role that Courtney inhabits, managing the roster,

helping to bring about NIL opportunities for marketing and things like that.
