We are going to dive into the politics going on.

First off, an update on the Speaker of the house situation.

There are people who are thinking it's likely,

but it's certainly not in the bag, so to speak,

that Jim Jordan will become the next speaker of the house.

Jim Jordan's a friend of the show.

Clay and I both respect and like the man.

And here he is saying that tomorrow there's going to be a vote one way or another. We will go to the floor tomorrow. It's not about pressure on anybody, just about we've got to have a speaker. You can't open the house and do the work of the American people and help our dearest and closest friend to Israel if you don't have a speaker. So we get the speaker, we get the house open,

and we get to work on the resolution and supplemental for Israel, and we get back to work for the

American people. And that's what I'm committed to doing, and I think it's going to happen tomorrow.

Because you had said before you wanted to have 217 first. Well, I do think that's ideal,

but as one of my colleagues said in the room, i don't know if there's any way to ever get

that in the room i would love that but i think the only way to do this is the way the founders intended

is you have the vote tomorrow we've set it for 12 o'clock and um i feel real good about it we have

more than one ballot if you don't get to 217 on the first we're going to elect the speaker tomorrow

that's that's uh that's what i think's going to happen jim jordan saying electing the speaker tomorrow that's that's uh that's what i think's going to happen jim jordan saying electing the speaker

tomorrow there might be some uh some back and forth perhaps some shenanigans or posturing or whatever

you want to call it clay but my sense is this ends one way or another with jim jordan as the

speaker which would be a great i think it's a great choice for the republicans and we can all move on with our lives. That's kind of what I think. I think we said from the moment Jim Jordan announced on this show, somebody could go back and check the transcripts that we thought Jim Jordan would end up being the speaker. Now, Scalise won head-to-head the first time, but Scalise wasn't going to be able to get the votes. I think you go to the floor. And I think what he's really saying is anybody who's opposed to me needs to stand up and explain why they're opposed to me. And it may take several ballots. I don't know. What did it take? Like 15 ballots for Kevin McCarty?
