We kicked off the week in honor of the birthday of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. by talking to a living civil rights pioneer. On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week we shared his insights on real transformation for the underserved communities of our nation through the grassroots efforts of those called to serve the forgotten and not through the cumbersome efforts of governmental systems. The extreme cold temperatures that many across the country are experiencing right now can keep people indoors and out of the sunlight and for some that can lead to changes in mood and the winter doldrums. Our guest, an expert in family matters, explained to us what Seasonal Affective Disorder is and gave us some practical strategies for betting those winter blues. Despite what we hear in popular culture today, fasting is about a lot more than losing weight. This spiritual practice is a powerful way for believers to deepen their faith and relationship with the Lord. We had the privilege of sharing the insights and personal experiences of a highly respected pastor and teacher who explained what fasting is and why the transformative power of fasting is in how it changes us and our relationship with God. Once again we were joined by one of our favorite authors as he continues his ”rules” book series which once again blends history and biblical truth to explain how we can navigate the storms of life until we find the safe harbor God has prepared for us. It is time once again to celebrate the preborn as we share the highlights of this year’s March for Life in Washington D.C.
