And the jumping off point is news that just came down during the Barton Carlin show is that Sauce Gardner has been traded by the New York Jets to the Indianapolis Colts for two first round draft picks, a 2026 pick and a 2027 pick, and also a player that has yet to be identified.

It's a bold move by the Jets who are not going anywhere this year, but it does call into some question.

You had just signed him to a contract extension.

You had him under control for this year and next, and the extension, which was for big money,

hasn't even kicked in yet.

And when that extension was signed, well, the coach of the Jets, Aaron Glenn said, that

sauce Gardner is a foundational piece of the team, a foundational piece.

And now eight games into the season, he has been traded.

Now, it's a bold move by Indianapolis Colts who are emboldened by the fact that they've

gotten off to a great start behind Daniel Jones, and they're going for it.

They think they have enough to be able to nail it down and maybe win a game or two in the playoffs,

maybe even go further.

The Jets, well, it's a lost season.
