This is horrible.

Just awful.

This massive winter storm that they've named Elliot missed the New York City area.

We were very fortunate.

Remember last week we were talking about it coming at us and it just missed.

Just missed us completely.

So we're fortunate, but not everybody in New York is, and that's the horrible part.

Across the country, the death toll is now going up to 59.

59 are reported dead from this storm.

The death toll in New York State is 28.

The most deaths in western New York, especially up in the Buffalo area.

They got three feet of snow, and there's more snow expected.

And New York City airports are still a mess because of the storm across the country,

with over 40,000 delays and cancellations across the country.

Southwest Airlines was particularly horrible.

They still have flights canceled until December 31st.

The president of the Southwest Airlines Flight Attendance Union says the problem was not staffing at the airports. It was not

the flight attendants. They were ready to go. It was not the ticket takers or the baggage

handlers, but a phone system that Southwest uses for rebooking of flights. The phone systems that

the company uses is just not working.

They're just not manned with enough manpower in order to give the scheduling changes

to flight attendants.
