A few hours ago, the head coach of the New York Giants, who has really created the art form of saying nothing, did actually say something.

He did confirm what we all assumed, which was Russell Wilson, who is washed, is going to be the starting quarterback for the New York Football Giants.

If you don't believe me, if you don't believe Rich Ackerman, who said in the update, I take you back to Giant Camp a few hours ago when Brian Dable, in the most daybow way possible, made it official.

Can any of the other quarterbacks challenge Russell for the week one starting job, where is that door closed?

That's his.

Yeah, like I said, these guys will be out here competing, but Russ is our starter.

Now, let me tell you something, man. I truly mean this because as I've sat here, lucky enough to sit here at WFAN for a very long time, and mostly this has been a conversation around the Jets. So this is kind of unique with the Giants. When a team drafts a quarterback in the first round or the second round, eventually that guy is going to get an opportunity. And I have been very consistent about this opinion going all the way back to the days with Joe in 2009 after the judge drafted Mark Sanchez.

So sometimes your opinions evolve on things.

Sometimes they're pretty firm.

And I am very firm on something.

I want my young quarterback to sit.

That's what I want. I wanted Mark Sanchez to sit. Did they listen? No. They had a Fugazi competition with Kellan Clemens and Sanchez

played a wet right away. I wanted Gino Smith to sit. I wanted Daniel Jones to set. And so in this

case, I tell you right now as an IFO, I want Jackson Dart to set. I want him to sit the entire season. And I think the Giants are set up to do it. And I know that at times, even here in training camp, certainly when the season starts, there are going to be calls from listeners, there are going to be calls from guys here, maybe even you teak.

I don't know how you feel. We'll get to it in a second. Who are going to say, Jackson, Dart, Jackson, Dark, Jackson, Dark. I'm telling you right now, I think the Giants are doing the right thing. The question is, can they complete it? I think it is best for a young quarterback to sit. and so this is the beginning of this

but I hope all of us collectively

can put the booze. for a young quarterback to sit. And so this is the beginning of this,

and get through the next four or five months,

realizing that what's best for the Giants

and what's best for this kid

is for him to not play quarterback in 2025.
