Welcome to another edition of Hot Topics in Cosmetic Medicine. I'm Dr. Anthony Eun, and this is

our regular series that we do once every six weeks or so, where we cover the hottest topics in cosmetic medicine,

whether it's plastic surgery, dermatology, injections, skincare, and the like. I'm joined once again

by Dr. Emily Levin, dermatologist. We'll do a formal introduction of her in just a second. But today

we're going to be talking about some really interesting topics today. We're going to be talking

about injections for breast enhancement and whether

those are actually safe. We'll be talking about removal of salivary glands as a way to get a sharper

neckline. We'll be talking about platelet-derived growth factor or PDGF, which is a huge topic on social

media today and a lot of infighting amongst injectors. We'll talk about RF microneedling and a recent FDA warning

and whether matcha may be causing your hair to fall out. Yes, matcha causing your hair to fall out.

My daughter loves matcha. All right, so let me go ahead and introduce Dr. Emily Levin. Thank you so

much for joining me again. Thanks for having me. So Dr. Emily Levin is a dermatologist here in the Detroit area. Can you just tell us a little bit about your practice for those people who may be new to you? Yep. I am a board certified dermatologist in private practice in southeast Michigan near the Detroit area. And I have two locations for my office, one in Bingham Farms, one in Washington Township. and I practice, I'm practicing for 20 years, a little over 20 years. And I do a lot of cosmetic dermatology, general dermatology, skin cancer screenings and excisions and such. Okay, great. So we are going to be talking about some pretty interesting topics today, and I want to get into these because some of these are pretty meaty. The first one is one that's not quite as meaty, but it's kind of interesting. And this is an article from the

aesthetic surgery journal, which is a journal of aesthetic plastic surgery or cosmetic plastic surgery.

And it's called submandibular gland reduction in modern neck left surgery. So what that means, basically, is we have a gland in our neck called the

submandibular gland and it's a salivary gland that sits just underneath, and some of us just

underneath our jaw, others of us it actually sits a bit lower. And this article is about
