What's going on everyone? Welcome back to the show. Today we're going to do a set of questions from a reader on Instagram who I apologize. I do not remember the screen name of this person, but they had a great question and so I had recently

done an article and a video on hot composting and specifically how to restart a compost

pile that's gone cold and so this reader wrote in and asked a bunch of different composting questions.

I'm going to read some of them here for you now.

Number one, where is the best place to put a compost pile?

What should I put in it to get started? How do I make sure I'm not attracting

rodents? How often should I monitor it? If I'm really busy, can I still compost

without making a pile of garbage? Bin or no bin? How often should I turn it? And so on on and so forth so there's a bunch of questions here as you can see

So what I figured I would do is go through a quick hot composting

101 some of the things that you need to consider, and just some basic overview.

And I know, you know, if you're an experienced comp poster, this might not be the episode for you,

but there are a lot of listeners out there who seem to want to know all about this,

because maybe they've been gardening in the past, but they haven't integrated that composting

element to their garden, and they're trying to create that nice system where their food scraps, their plant matter, their leaves,

their grass clippings can all go into the compost and eventually provide fertility for their

garden.
