Hey there, listeners, welcome to horror movie club. The show where two dudes, who are not

quite nerds, but not quite noobs, choose a horror movie each week to rate and review. I'm

Brian, I'm on the phone with Ashfin, and today we are talking about horror of Dracula from

1958, sometimes

also simply titled Dracula. It's directed by Terrence Fisher, written by Jimmy Sankster,

starring Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, Melissa Stribling, and Michael Goh. In this film,

based on Bram Stoker's Dracula, Van Helsing tries to track and thwart Count Dracula, who is wreaking havoc upon Jonathan Harker's

loved ones.

If you're new to the show, we're going to talk spoiler-free about this movie for the first

15 or 20 minutes, but after we play some transition music, we're getting into spoiler territory,

at which point we will walk through the plot and review the film

in detail uh this is our second hammer horror film osmosh and so i assume this is probably the

second one you've seen right we did the curse of frankenstein years back right and that one came out

before this one right yeah that one came out in 1957 one, right? Yeah, that one came out in 1957.

It is one of our least listened to episodes, so here I am.

I don't necessarily like or dislike movies from the 50s, but I just feel like it is necessary,

perhaps as a fan, but certainly necessary as podcast hosts for us to, you know, get familiar

with the history of horror, and hammer horror is integral to that
