Paradise doesn't always mean safety.

On September 1st, 1983, a woman working in what she described as paradise had her life

cut short by a man who might or might not be in prison for her murder. So if you like your coffee

hot but your bones chilled, sit back and start your day with a morning cup of murder. Celia Natasha Dowdy, Tasha to those who knew her, was working as a waitress at the beautiful

Brampton Island Resort in the summer of 1983.

A seasonal job, Celia left behind her life in Warwickshire, England, and traded it for the Australian

paradise that, in a letter to her family,

she said she wished she could stay in forever. However, paradise wouldn't last much longer for the

40-year-old who, heading to the ferry on August 31, 1983, had no clue the dramatic turn her life

would soon end up taking. Heading to the nearby town of McKay for a dental appointment, Celia decided to stay the night

and travel back to the island the following day.

But when she failed to show up to work by September 2nd, local police were called and

began the search for the summer resident.

From what they could figure, Celia went straight from the ferry to her

room to drop off the things she purchased in town, which included some gifts for her son's

upcoming 19th birthday. She then grabbed a red towel that she had just got and headed towards

Dingy Bay, reaching the secluded area at around 1040 and laying out to get some sun on the nude beach.
