Hey everybody. Welcome to this week's episode of Red Pill Your Healthcast. I am Dr. Charlie Faganholz here with Lauren Johnson APRN. And we have a cool topic today. We are going to be talking about hormones. And I know a lot of our listeners can really relate to this topic. And so I think we should clear up some

0:20.9

stuff and things that we've seen clinically that can really go a long way. So what are hormones,

0:27.3

what affects them, what kind of symptoms would you get? Let's start off by just saying what a hormone

0:31.3

is. And by definition, a hormone is just a chemical messenger that's secreted from our endocrine

0:36.3

system. Our endocrine system is our

0:38.7

adrenals, our thyroid, our ovaries, our testes, our prostate, our uterus, our pituitary, our

0:43.9

hypothalamus. You've heard all of these things, especially thyroid because there's a lot of

0:48.2

medications pushed for that gland. So you all have heard of that. And so what these hormones do

0:53.9

is they go through the blood and they will change or really control a lot of different body processes.

1:02.2

And when this doesn't work properly, you will get all types of symptoms, whether it's hot flashes, whether it's depression and anxiety, whether it's fatigue, whether it is

1:12.1

hair loss, it could be loss of bone mass. I mean, they control so much, it can really be

1:17.8

so many different symptoms. So Lauren, let's talk a little bit about hormones and what are

1:23.5

your first thoughts when if you want people to know about hormones. What is like one of the

1:27.3

biggest things you want people to know? Well, I is like one of the biggest things you want people to know?

1:29.3

Well, I think, you know, there's a few factors that I think that conventional medicine just doesn't even consider it.

1:35.3

The fact that stress plays a big role in hormone balance, the fact that facts and having enough cholesterol plays a big role in hormone balance and how we we demonize

1:45.5

cholesterol we say oh don't eat more than one egg or you know like it's or put everybody on

1:50.4

statins and it's absolutely horrible for our hormones and you need cholesterol for hormone production

1:56.1

um i think that we have to consider all of the indocrine disruptors that we are exposed to in our

2:02.9

world. It is massive. And it's impossible to avoid them. Even the most diligent person will be

2:10.5

exposed to these chemicals. And so what can we do to help our body to function better? How does that

2:17.3

typically affect a woman's
