So as we sit here on this Thursday afternoon, taping the On the Tape podcast, one thing stands out to me.

It is opening day of baseball.

The one constant throughout the years, Ray, has been baseball.

America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers.

It has been erased like a blackboard rebuilt and erased again.

But baseball has marked the time. That is beautiful. That is, it's not even chat GBT. That's actually Danny

Moses, which is amazing. It's incredible. So what, you know, what do I'm thinking about? By the way,

And when you think about opening day, baseball specifically, it's that old saying,

Hope Springs Eternal.

So I actually looked it up because I thought I knew where it was from, but it's actually

from a poet, Alexander Pope.

And he's actually the second most quoted poet behind,

of course, Shakespeare.

He's also the guy that wrote, to err is human to forgive divine.

So here I am thinking about it.

Hope Springs Eternal comes from his essay, an essay on man, and it speaks to how we're wired to be optimistic beings,

regardless of what we see. We always want to be optimistic. And I totally get that. And hope

absolutely springs eternal, Danny. And I want to be optimistic. But you know what? I'm not
