Summary
Welcome to HOOVERING, the podcast about eating. Host, Jessica Fostekew (Guilty Feminist, Motherland) has a frank conversation with an interesting person about gobbling; guzzling; nibbling; scoffing; devouring and wolfing all up… or if you will, hoovering.
This week I’m talking to Nahel Tzegai - actor in the West End smash hit ‘The Jungle’, all about the Calais jungle. There are Eritrean recipes, admissions of the downsides of fully immersive theatre (farts) and it turns out I do know what dissonance means. Considering we’re on the set of one of the most heartbreaking plays I’ve seen in years, this is a very very happy episode.
Recipes
I made her vegan courgette apple muffins https://deliciouslyella.com/2012/08/20/vegan-zucchini-apple-muffins-gluten-dairy-and-sugar-free/
Honourable Mentions
The play is called ‘The Jungle’
The Camden based Arab food market is called Pheonicia
Ethiopian Restaurants Labilel and Addis, both in Kentish Town
And Nahel’s funny sounding recommendation Laura Esquival’s ‘Like Water got Chocolate’
And that book I cannot stop thinking about, or banging on about Louise Gray ‘Ethical Carnivore’
The plants propaganda film, which I have to admit, I haven’t yet seen - available on Youtube: ‘Earthlings’
My hangover medicine of choice the MIGHTY (retro) Alka Seltzer
And this is the extra lemony (extra sugary) BEAUTIFUL San Pelligrino Limonata
OH, And

| 1:33.7 | with the good stuff. So this week I'm talking to an actor from Camden called Nahel Tsegai. She's |
| 1:38.9 | got some glorious Eritrean heritage and therefore cooking tips and she's currently starring in |
| 1:43.6 | the massive smash hit |
| 1:44.7 | sellout now transferred to the West End hit, The Jungle. It's about the Calais jungle, and it's |
