Summary
Welcome to HOOVERING, the podcast about eating. Host, Jessica Fostekew (Guilty Feminist, Motherland) has a frank conversation with an interesting person about gobbling; guzzling; nibbling; scoffing; devouring and wolfing all up… or if you will, hoovering.
This week I’m in Bristol, in the home of contestant from the last series of Masterchef, Zaleha Olpin. I AM SO LUCKY. Originally from Malaysia she’s lived all over the world and her cooking is a thing of absolute gorgeousness. Her departure from Masterchef was a thing of slight turmoil which Zaleha is disarmingly gracious about but you’ll hear me getting pissed off on her behalf. We go into depth about Malay food and there’s an excellently punchy expose about Zaleha’s youngest daughter’s time as a vegetarian. My mouth and brains both learn so much over the course of this conversation, I feel totally spoilt and honoured by the end of it.
