Good morning to you. It is Sunday. November the 27th. I'm Ali Velshi. We begin today by taking you

0:10.0

behind the curtain, giving you a peek at how the sausage is made here at Velshi. Starting with a story

0:14.7

that's got me so wound up that when one of my producers flagged it last week, I was away and I responded

0:20.2

in an email, quote,

0:21.6

it's outrageous. I just want to be on TV to discuss this. It involves a simmering in serious

0:27.2

geopolitical conflict involving the United States. But to get there, I want to go back to October

0:32.3

the 2nd, 2018, when the Washington Post columnist, Jamal Khashashoggi was murdered by Saudi Arabian agents in

1:17.7

role in Khashoggi's murder. MBS is now the Saudi Arabian prime minister in addition to being

1:24.5

the crown prince, and that's notable because that's what the Biden administration cites for its decision,

1:29.8

essentially saying that because MBS is a head of government, he's shielded from being held legally accountable for his actions relating to Khashoggi's killing.

1:39.0

The State Department says this is longstanding U.S. precedent, but almost like an absurd form of diplomatic immunity.

1:46.2

And like I said, it's outrageous. It's also profoundly dangerous. It's also the exact opposite of

1:53.0

what Joe Biden promised on the campaign trail to make the kingdom of Saudi Arabia a, quote,

1:57.6

pariah for Khashoggi's murder and a litany of other human rights abuses.
