Hey everyone, it's Emily. This week, in honor of Juneteenth, we are re-airing one of our favorite

episodes from the Black Voices in Healthcare series, which was originally published in the summer

of 2020 in the wake of the murder of George Floyd. In a few minutes, you'll hear more about that

from today's special guest host, UCSF physician Dr. Ashley McMullen,

who was the host of the Black Voices series.

The Nocturnous Story Lab is a virtual storytelling workshop designed by our in-house story development team, specifically for healthcare workers.

This is a new project we've been working on, inspired by our coaching process for the live shows,

and we wanted to bring that coaching

to a broader audience. So we piloted our first session in the spring and got a lot of great

feedback from the learners who felt that the course really helped give them the tools to bring

I am so excited to share that this week, in honor of Juneteenth, we are re-releasing an episode

from the Black Voices and Healthcare series, which originally aired in 2020.

Juneteenth is a holiday that commemorates the emancipation of the last enslaved African-Americans

in the United States.

It brings me great joy to see that it is now being recognized as a national holiday.

It's important that we take time to acknowledge the great pain as well as the incredible strength of those who survived,

the atrocities of slavery in this country, and the legacy that lives on through

black communities today. So whether you're someone who has celebrated Juneteenth for decades
