Hey there, my friends. Welcome back to the Morning Magset. I am thankful you here and

I hope you're ready to get your mind and your heart aligned with the truth of God.

We want to be walking step by step in his steps that he will guide us in truth and in

right living today. Let's keep our focus on this day. Let the future be the future. We'll

get to that when we get to it. But right now, let's get ready for this day. Wherever you're

listening from in the world, I want to welcome you. I was noticing on my map today that we

have much of Asia pretty much covered as far as listenership. We have people listening

in Thailand, in Laos, in Vietnam, in Myanmar, in Indonesia, in Malaysia, in the Philippines.

We have people all over Asia who are listening. I want to thank you. I want to welcome you

to the Morning Magset and ask you to spread the word about the Morning Magset that we can

reach more and more people, groups and countries around the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Today we're looking at Proverbs 23-22 and this is a very simple sentence that I feel in

our culture we need to do better at applying. Let's read it and then we'll talk about it.

Listen to your father who begot you and do not despise your mother when she is old. Friends,

there is a attitude that can come up in cultures, societies, over time, that youth is better,

that youthfulness is more to be desired than old age. And part of that is because of the

consequences that come from aging. I mean our bodies run down. Health becomes an issue and we

might be more prone to disease. Things like Alzheimer's and dementia can be more prevalent when we're

older. And so we tend to look at old age as a bad thing. But the Bible doesn't think of age

as a bad thing. In fact, the Bible does the opposite. The Bible esteems those who are older.

For many reasons, but some of those are that the person who is older has endured much more and

therefore should have a lot more wisdom that will be a benefit to the society. As we see in the
