Getting chickens at the Epicomestead was a huge update for me and a big learning lesson

as I thought I was going to raise them from the pullet stage but instead decided to raise

them from the baby chick stage and I believe they're about three and a half months old now

so it's been a really rewarding experience.

Jacques, you raised chickens from baby chicks and you actually are getting eggs now but then

So, we actually decided that we wanted to expand our chickens and get three more and

what we ended up doing is carving out a separate area in our outdoor chicken run to provide

a safe space for those baby chickens.

So we got them about two months ago now and they're really sizing up fast and we originally

we had four chickens.

They were a Easter egg or a wine dot buff orping tin and a Rhode Island red.

So we decided to get one more buff orping tin because Chirp was our favorite most

loving chicken and we got a pinta pinta pinta asteriana, some Spanish breed and a black

copper morons.

So we wanted to get a couple of different unique breeds that created different colored

eggs that are also very friendly and easy to take care of.

So the thing with getting new chickens though is you can't just get them and throw them

in the coop with your big chickens because your big chickens are not going to like that

in one way whatsoever.

So what we're doing is we're raising them indoors just like you would have with your baby
