Hello, our quest to find Britain's favourite governmental or arms-length body occupied civic

building seems to have been infiltrated by people from Aberdeen.

Because Sam emailed to say, I'm nominating the Aberdeen City Council building, also known

as Marshall College, he says it's spectacular and it's the second largest granite building

in the world, and then straight away after that Liz got in touch to suggest exactly the

same place, and also Aberdeen Townhouse, which is next door and is in the Scottish Boronial

style.

So that's two people nominating two buildings next door to each other in Aberdeen.

So come on, rest of Britain, get your nominations in.

Not this is an official competition because then we'd have to have rules and protocols

and things wouldn't we?

But it is making me think, looking at pictures of these buildings in Aberdeen.

You know they call it the granite city and it just reminds me of times I've been there

and actually the granite really does kind of sparkle in the sunlight.

It's quite special.

Right, that's enough chatting about architecture and it's linked with the built environment

and how we shape our buildings and then they shape us to quote Churchill.
