And we're grateful for the chance to be with you today. Today, we're going to talk about boundaries and specifically with high demand systems.

But I think we'll mix in some conversation around personal relationships and how we do boundaries there as well. I'm going to start off by

offense. There are boundaries all throughout our society, Teresa, and there are rules and

rules are important. They help keep us safe.

Do you have any immediate thoughts on boundaries before I jump into maybe a working definition

for today's conversation? I'll just say that I think boundaries are one of the most

fundamental aspects that people need to understand

in order to further their own healing.

I think that this shows up in so many areas that people might not even think about.

And it goes hand in hand with codependency and a lot of high demand controlling systems tend to create a lot of

codependency within the population and so this is really really common in those

in those systems and also you'll see this playing out in family systems as well

so I think it's just a really fundamental thing to learn and know more about.

I think, you know, growing up in Utah and in a family system that was influenced by the culture around us,

this definitely showed him in my family system and in the, you know,

the church system as well. So I think it'll be interesting for people to kind of get a sense of

how it plays out, um, personally and in a system. Yeah. And I'll say too, uh, if, you know, I'm raised in

the 80s and I think there was really unhealthy boundaries and very little

teaching around you you have a right to establish boundaries. You have a right to set parameters for
