I cannot believe how fucking hard they lied to us

about Thanksgiving and elementary school.

These motherfuckers used to tell us,

yeah, actually the Native American,

they didn't call them Native Americans, the Indians and the settlers, the settler colonialists,

they got together one day and just all set aside their differences and the natives brought

the cornucopia and they all came together and just ate food. Consensually. Consensually. Voluntarily. And we're just so thankful for each other. And it was a day to just give thanks for everything. All the compromise, you know. The colonizers, famous for that. Famous for that. Every time we get to this time of year again, it always makes me think about like, a lot of people have a positive image of Thanksgiving, right? You know, it's a time to come together. And I think that's generally good for holidays. Real. But it always makes me think about how they really did just fucking lie in the classroom. They just made it up. You don't, why, why does it have to have this like fake and made up history? Why can't it just be like a day where people get together and eat food? Why do we have to lie so hard on the atrocities that the colonizers committed? You know, it's crazy, especially because whenever we talk about Thanksgiving, like growing up as a kid, you know, you learn about Thanksgiving. You go, you trace your hand on the paper, you make a little turkey. You'll make the hand turkey. You'll do all these like festivities for Thanksgiving.
