Hello everyone, welcome to the occasional holiday special episode of the Minescape podcast.

Not really a holiday special so much as a year-end message.

For those of you who are not here last year, the basic idea is that I try to do a podcast every week,

except I take a couple of weeks off for the holidays.

And in one of those holiday weeks, I'll try to at least put something out there just to say,

thank you for everyone listening.

No real substance, no real interview with anyone, no real deep thoughts,

but I'll chat a little bit about the year, things that happened,

the state of the podcast, that kind of stuff.

So that's what this is. Here we are, holiday message.

I'm not promising there'll be a holiday message every year,

but this year I seem to have the time for it, so let's go.

2019 was the first full calendar year of existence for the Minescape podcast,

just started last year in 2018.

So overall, I think it's going really, really well.

I'm happy with both the guests, especially, most happy about those,

happy with the audience listening, fairly happy with my own performance,

although I do think I could do better.

I mean, people say good and bad things about one's performance as a podcast host,

but I really want to try to get better moving beyond just asking questions

that are the obvious questions, and try to get better at asking questions

that bring something new out in each podcast.
