0:31.8	We'll find the answer to that question today on Truth for Life as we continue our study in the book of Daniel.
0:37.7	Alistair Begg considers the unsettling recurring nightmares of an ancient king

0:53.1	I invite you to turn with me to the book of Daniel in the Old Testament.
0:59.2	If you have read ahead, then you'll know that it has 49 verses.
1:03.9	And so in the interests of time, I'm not going to read the entire chapter.
1:09.4	In fact, if I were to spend three minutes on each verse in commenting,
1:15.5	we'd be here for quite a long time. Daniel chapter two and verse one. In the second year of
1:23.7	the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuchadnezzar had dreams. His spirit was troubled and his sleep left him.
1:31.3	Then the king commanded that the magicians, the enchanters, the sorcerers and the
1:36.5	Caldeans be summoned to tell the king his dreams. So they came in and stood before the king.
1:43.0	And the king said to them, I had a dream, and my spirit is troubled to know the dream.
1:48.7	Then the Caldeans said to the king, in Aramaic, O king live forever. Tell your servants the dream, and we will show the interpretation.
1:57.6	The king answered and said to the Caldeans, The word from me is firm.
2:01.5	If you do not make known to me the dream and its interpretation,
2:05.4	you shall be torn limb from limb, and your houses shall be laid in ruins.
2:10.9	But if you show the dream and its interpretation,
2:13.8	you shall receive from me gifts and rewards and great honor.
2:17.4	Therefore, show me the dream and its interpretation.
2:21.5	The answered a second time and said, let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will show its interpretation.
2:28.7	The king answered and said, I know with certainty that you're trying to gain time, because you see that the word
